My landlords want to garnish my wages.can they for propane heat that they kept beating me to the punch to...?

purchase. First off they were told about a broken propane gage that was never fixed so i kept on running out of heat so how r u suppose to know when u r out w/ a broken gage. I was not staying there as i had no way to work (car broke). i checked on the house a few days b4 and it was fine well i ran out of heat & pipes froze.(End of Dec) I called the LL about this & wanted to make sure it was actually out since i just put heat in a month earlier.. I was out they called & left a vmail (iwas@work). So i called 2 get heat well the LL already had heat coming so they would not deliver nemore that day. SO the LL wants me to pay i told them to take it out of SD. They told me pipes broke (non have from what i c) Well i got LIHEAP and they were putting heat in on Fri 1/25 but Prpane Co.would not cuz the LL again w/o knowledge put heat in on 1/23. To screw me again to have to pay them. NOW they want to garnish my wages. Which i can hardly afford everything now. I have no idea what to do.
