Why do so many people believe in Christianity when chances are, Christianity was forced on their ancestors?

So many of these people embrace Christianity out of one reason only: fear. They believe that if they're Christian, it won't make the color of their skin, or their historical background seem like such a big deal, which it really isn't at all. It's quite sad, actually. I want to cry whenever I think of what you have just asked....it just isn't right. They can tell you all they want that they chose to be Christian on their own accord, but we all know that it isn't true, they even know that it isn't true.
