Why are there no 9/11/01 reports anywhere of an increased threat from Saddam Hussein or Iraq?

The media is often used as a tool to build support for government actions, yet I cannot find a single pre-September 11th 2001 reference anywhere in media archives or the internet about Saddam posing an increased threat, or confirmation of any WMDs. Colin Powell & Condoleezza Rice both stated during tv interviews in 2001 that Saddam was NOT a threat, yet the reports about Iraq being an imminent danger went ballistic immediately after 9/11. Nobody asks why?
